York Festival of Ideas is back with a wide range of exciting attractions

York Festival of Ideas returns on  6 June for three weeks. This year it explores  The Story of Things: A celebration of ingenuity and invention.

One of the largest free festivals in the UK, York Festival of Ideas offers a huge range of events including talks, exhibitions, theatre, music, film, guided walks, children’s activities and workshops – all designed to educate, entertain and inspire. With topics ranging from the ancient and natural world to science and creative writing, and from art and design to the human mind, there’s something to interest everyone.

Now in its seventh year, this year’s Festival offers well over 150 free events, including special Focus Days on the economy, Anglo-French relations, and democracy and extremism. Events take place across the city, including many at the University of York.
